RECENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - AND ANSWERS FROM PEEWEES FOUNDER LEE GOLD
Question :- “Can you tell me exactly what a demi colour is please?”Answer :- Yes a demi colour is an all over colour that usually slowly washes out over 12 to 18 shampoos without leaving a regrowth. It gives you condition shine & tone without a long term commitment. Paul Mitchell's Shines colour does not contain ammonia.
Question :- “Is it true Peewees do free fringe trims?”
Answer: Yep we sure do! For example if you came in today for a cut & style with me & I said that your cut is an 8 week cut but in 4 weeks time your fringe needed cutting then you can come in & we will do it free of charge for you………so much better than risking a d.i.y attempt!
Question:-
''I tend to bleach my own roots because i like to apply Funge Paintbox colours to my hair. Recently, I could not find my usual product (Smart Colour)andused a product that I thought was similar. This was a hair lightener.
When I put my colour over the top of the pre lightened hair the results were disappointing and not the usual bright vivid colour. I was wondering why this might be, is hair lightener different from bleach? Can I bleach over the lightened roots?''
Answer:-
To be honest it is imposible to give you a truly accurate answer without actually being able to see your hair.
However generally hi lift tints & hair lighteners tend to only lift up to 3 shades so if you are a base 6 on the international colour scale then you would only achieve a lift up to 9 where as a good quality bleach
will lift more than this & also give a "cleaner" colour. It does also depend on the peroxide strength & if cream or liquid. Another factor is the natural pigmentation in your hair...if you have more granular or
diffuse ,...red or yellow pigments that need to be removed.
Going by your comment about your colour not looking so vibrant it sounds like the lightener has not lifted your hair up enough & probably is a bit too yellow to put the pink on....on the colour spectrum
violet & yellow nutralise each other & i suspect that if the lightener is a bit yellow this will also dull a pink colour.
So really a top quality bleach is the solution. You could go into the salon as a training model where we only charge half price for colouring.
I believe you are in the Manchester area. Perhaps call our Manchester salon & speak to Adam the artistic director as he runs the training there.
Hope this is of help
